The Air Force Academy graduation was yesterday. This graduation, as with all the other service schools, puts on a show at the end of the graduation. All the grads wear their dress blues, which includes a white hat. At the end they all throw their hats up and cheer just as five jets fly over in formation with a strip of white smoke fallowing. http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/06/images/20050601-2_hw9v4286-515h.html It was one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. These Thunderbirds (the jets name) flew over then had to wait for twenty minutes for the vice president to leave the area, but then they flew a show that was worth watching. Truly, it makes me want to be a part of the Air Force. I have seen air shows before, but they just do not measure up to this one. They had three that stayed in formation, while the other two did more advanced loops, spins, and crazy tricks. These Thunderbirds give me a certain amount of security. When they flew over us and the engines were blasting it made me feel proud. Strange? Maybe it is because I have a certain attachment to the Air Force or maybe because I like knowing that these jets are looking out for me. In any circumstance, it was fun.
