Woes
Is it really already May 20th? Time has flown, in some ways, this year. Seems like just a few weeks ago
was sitting in some persons house at midnight ready to welcome the New Year. Yet, nearly half the year has slipped away, as I said before “in some ways”. Among “not in some ways” is my missing Texas so much, and not being able to attend Cornell. I worked my rear off to finish enough school so I could go this summer, what a pain…
Yesterday we took the horses to the vet. This guy, unknown to us, only does vaccinations and no emergencies. So we are now in the search of a new, all-around vet we can call if ever our horses play stupid again. Rosie tried to yesterday. Yes, I think I will tell you all.
I wanted to bathe both the horses because they both were nasty from the winter. So I tied them to the trailer and had already finished with Rosie and was rinsing Flag’s suds off. Something, who knows what, spooked Flag and he jumped back and started a little bit to pull back. Then Rosie started. The difference between Rosie and Flag in this regard is when Flag feels the pressure from his halter he stops pulling but as soon as Rosie feels the pressure she freaks out and pulls harder. So he had stopped and she was going nuts. Her lead rope finally brook and smacked me is the face, not too badly, and she was loose in the “big world” again. Thank goodness Flag did not get loose, because then they both would be loose and run off, and to top matters I would have been alone. So I quickly untied Flag and so he could would stop trying to break his halter and join her. Rosie being Rosie, as so many of you know, stopped as soon as she saw grass and noticed Flag was not right behind her. The problem was when the lead snapped he kept going back and she fell back onto he hindquarters. Her back, right and parts of her left leg have no hair left. She got bad road rash from her stupidity. She is however OK, and will heal completely.
Now for the house, the only things changed is the stucco has been finished, and all the appliances and cabinets are there, but not installed yet.
Thar you go. Did you enjoy reading yet again about my horsies and little pities? Love to all!

I LOVE reading about all your "little pities" as you call them because I just love to get new news from you guys! I wish I were up in Colorado with you........
Horses can be so goofy sometimes, but you already knew that. At least some of them have a little sense! I'm glad Rosie didn't really hurt herself! At least she did it at the begining of summer so she won't get too cold.....? *tee-hee* whatever...
Love ya,

Oh yeah, thanks for posting on my site! I posted a comment on your xanga site, I don't know if you've seen it............?
can't wait to see ya this summer!
I was unaware that Rosie had been injured to such an extent. I thought she had merely fallen on her behind but had not suffered any marks. Well, good to know that she still escaped any serious injury.
