Keeping Up

Just trying to take life in stride and keep air in my lungs.

Brrr...

Brrr…Is it just me or is it getting colder? Colorado has a real fall, and winter. None of this bloody hot one day, and freezing the next day. I am enjoying the larger city, though the traffic and loads of people can be a pain. Plus, I have no clue where anything is.

Duncan and I found a new Kung-Fu school. It is much more traditional than the school in Waco even. The classes are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at an hour and a half each. I could not believe how soar legs can get until this weekend. I will miss Michelle and her class, and…no jujitsu???

The horses are doing well. Flag is being eaten alive by the bugs, poor guy. They leave Rosie alone and ignore the fly spray. Poor Flag, I have to treat his bites twice a day right now. Rosie is doing much better than I had though she would. I rode her the other day when my father could not and she bucked, I got mad and she stopped (did not try that again either). When my father rides her she does really well, never offering to buck or bolt or anything bad. She trots when he tells her and even is starting to canter (very very small amounts with my dad, more with me). I am trying to get Flag and my lungs up to speed, with the small amount of oxygen, for our first cross-country schooling Halloween show. Then there is a schooling Dressage on the 6th, and a schooling Jumper show on the 20-something. I am so happy there is a place near me here in CO that has shows. I do not have to go 100 miles and stable the horse overnight there anymore. Yay!

As for the rest of life…we are starting the dreaded fence once again. This time around we will have a wooden top-rail with no-climb wire underneath. But it be the barn I am excited about! A nice, 9 stall wooden barn! It really is my dream barn, thanks Dad!

I shall start looking for a church I like. I hope that search goes well. Oh, my parents are heading back to Waco this weekend. They are leaving Duncan and I to tend the horses. Grr, I would like to go home again, but then again it would only make it even that much harder to leave again. Also…rumor has it that Newel, AKA my brother in law, and his buds are heading to Iraq in Jan. or Feb.

I miss y’all! Take care!

-Aidan
